In terms of new catalysts..
Microchip Technology (MCHP) completed its acquisition of Hailo, a developer of edge AI processors. Microchip's chips already sit inside millions of industrial and automotive devices, and adding dedicated AI accelerators lets it sell intelligence at the edge rather than just control. It positions the company for AI workloads that run on factory equipment, vehicles, and cameras instead of just the cloud.
SoFi Technologies (SOFI) became the first national bank to go live with stablecoin settlement across Mastercard's global payments network. Settling in stablecoins lets transactions clear around the clock rather than waiting on bank hours and correspondent networks. Being first gives SoFi a head start as a bank built for digital-asset payments while larger rivals are still running pilots.
Tempus AI (TEM) extended its existing data license agreement with Recursion Pharmaceuticals. Tempus has assembled one of the largest de-identified clinical and molecular datasets in oncology, and licensing it to drug developers produces high-margin recurring revenue. In a data business, renewals carry more weight than new logos, since they confirm customers found enough value to keep paying.
IonQ (IONQ) signed a multi-year strategic partnership with South Korea's SDT, supplying a Superion 256 quantum computer and its silicon-vacancy quantum memory module — the first deployment of either in the country. SDT plans a dedicated facility in Gumi to handle IonQ memory packaging, system assembly, and commissioning, and the two intend to build a hybrid quantum-classical data center alongside a separate cancer research project. The deal moves the relationship from cloud software integration to physical manufacturing, handing IonQ an Asia-Pacific supply chain hub it would otherwise have to build itself.
Planet Labs (PL) opened a state-of-the-art satellite manufacturing facility in Berlin. European governments are prioritizing sovereign space capabilities, and local production strengthens Planet's hand for defense and intelligence contracts that favor in-region suppliers. It adds physical presence to a German government business that has been growing quickly.
